What We Believe
At the heart of everything we do is the belief that salvation comes by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We affirm the authority of the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God — our ultimate source of truth for faith and life. We believe in the sovereignty of God over all things: creation, revelation, redemption, and final judgment. We hold to the doctrine of the Trinity — one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We acknowledge the universal sinfulness of humanity since the fall, which places all people under God’s righteous judgment — and yet, we rejoice deeply in the redemption made possible through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is both our representative and substitute. As the body of Christ, we believe the church is called to support one another and our wider community as we seek to faithfully live out our faith together, day by day.
Our Worship Life
From late spring through late autumn, worship services are held every Sunday at both churches — at Zion at 9:30 a.m. and at Knox at 11:15 a.m. During the winter months, we gather together for a single service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with the location alternating monthly between the two churches. Following every service, we linger over coffee and fellowship — a tradition our congregations truly cherish.
Our worship is rooted in a traditional style, with Scripture, preaching, hymns, and prayer forming the heart of each service. A joint worship committee works in close partnership with the minister to ensure that services are spiritually meaningful and carefully planned. The committee helps shape special seasons such as Advent, Lent, Easter, and Thanksgiving, and coordinates scripture readers, musicians, and other worship participants to ensure that the worship space is welcoming, appropriately adorned, and that members of the congregation are invited into every aspect of worship.
Communion is celebrated monthly, offered either by intinction or served individually depending on the season and setting. Our worship life is made all the richer by the dedication of our faithful musicians, who generously contribute their time, gifts, and presence each and every week.
Our Tradition
Knox and Zion are congregations of The Presbyterian Church in Canada — a denomination rooted in the Reformed tradition, with a strong commitment to scripture, community, and service. The PCC brings together over 850 congregations across Canada in a shared mission of faith, witness, and care.
