Join Us for a Special Celebration

On Sunday, August 2, Knox and Zion Presbyterian Churches come together to celebrate their joint anniversary with a single combined worship service — a special occasion in itself, as our two congregations more typically gather separately each Sunday. The service begins at 10:30 AM at Knox Presbyterian Church, 93 Joseph St, Port Carling, and all are warmly welcome.

Following worship, the celebration continues with a gourmet community lunch generously hosted by Portside Fusion at 98 Joseph St, Port Carling. There is no cost to attend. In the spirit of the occasion, we simply encourage a voluntary donation to Hospice Muskoka and its programmes, Andy’s House and Andy’s House at Home. All contributions will be gratefully received.

Please note that seating for lunch is limited due to fire capacity. To reserve your place, leave a message at (705) 765-3797.

And the day doesn’t end there. At 4:00 PM, Rev. Dr. Richard Topping — returning to this pulpit after nearly thirty years — will lead a special teaching session on the Holy Spirit and the Christian life. This is a rare and rich opportunity to sit, listen, and engage with one of the most respected voices in the Canadian Reformed tradition. Don’t miss it.

Richard Topping is President and Professor of Studies in the Reformed Tradition at the Vancouver School of Theology. He previously served as Minister of the Port Carling-Torrance Pastoral Charge from 1993 to 1997, and Minister at The Church of St Andrew and St Paul in Montreal from 1997 to 2009. From there he moved to teach at the Vancouver School of Theology, where he still serves today.

Richard and his wife Amy have two sons: Karl and Paul. Paul and his wife Ligia are parents to Rev. Topping’s amazing grandson Luke. Both Amy and Richard are thrilled to be back in the Port Carling and Torrance community, and are thankful for the wonderful years spent serving the gospel with the joyful people of God here in Muskoka.

Afternoon Teaching

Stay for an Afternoon of Teaching

Following lunch, everyone is welcome to stay for a special teaching session led by Rev. Topping on the Holy Spirit and the Christian life.

The session begins at 4:00 PM at Knox Presbyterian Church and includes about an hour of teaching followed by time for discussion and questions. We hope you will join us for what promises to be a rich and rewarding afternoon.

Spread the Word

Please share this event with friends, family, and neighbours. All are welcome to join us for this special day of community worship and celebration.
